Nepantla Bibliothek #1 Maque Pereyra: Research on Yoggaton as Empowerment and Decolonial Body Practice
Both within and outside of District, artists, curators, theoreticians, educational activists and participants from various backgrounds operate the open, changeable and nomadic format of District’s Schule ohne Zentrum. Linking artistic co-research and political (self)education, Schule ohne Zentrum explores collective forms of knowledge production. In projects that extend to different parts of the city, as well as outside of Berlin via international collaborations and long-term partnerships, experimental and performative spaces of unlearning and decentralized means of relation are activated. With this platform, which is unique in both the arts and the educational sector, Schule ohne Zentrum offers an extracurricular and extra-academic place of learning for the creative and critical examination of socio-political realities.
